This section provides a summary of the most important points that teachers and candidates need to know when taking ABRSM graded Piano exams.
Further details, as well as administrative information relating to the exams, are given in ABRSM’s Exam Regulations website, (available at www.abrsm.org/examregulations) which should be read before an exam booking is made.
Entering for an exam by your respective teacher:- Eligibility: There are eight grades of exam for Piano and candidates may register for a grade irrespective of age and without previously having taken any other grade in Piano. Candidates for a Grade 6, 7 or 8 exam must already have passed ABRSM Grade 5 (or above) in Music Theory.
At Musical Offerings we teach piano and prepare the students for ABRSM piano exams. The piano will be upright. At the year-end students will get an opportunity to perform at the annual day concert conducted by musical offerings.
Beginners Classes for Piano
This course is for 6 months – 1 year where students will learn the basics of western classical piano , playing simple songs using right hand and left hand followed with understanding the articulation and dynamics of piano playing. Curriculum for Beginner’s
The piano beginners class comprises of right hand playing, left hand playing, note reading and recognizing the sounds of or notes. By the end of beginners course the student will be able to read notes and play songs using separate hands and both hands and will upgrade to grade 1 syllabus.
Piano exams grade 1 onwards curriculum: -
Elements of the exam:- All ABRSM graded Piano exams comprise the following elements: three Exam Pieces; Scales, Arpeggios/broken chords; Sight-reading; and Aural tests. In all the grades, marks are allocated as follows:

Vocal lessons are conducted at musical offerings for age group 5 year onwards. The music lessons are conducted from the scratch with emphasis on voice culture and proper training on timbre and tonality of voice, proper guidance is provided to sing songs independently. Mostly the vocal genre taught here is Hindustani classical music and Bollywood music.
